1. What Oil Day Is and Where It Comes From

July 10 spells “OIL” when you flip the numbers upside-down, and that simple bit of stoner math—710—sparked the holiday. The idea showed up online in the early 2010s when concentrate fans on forums and Reddit started posting “Happy 710” memes and sharing dab videos at exactly 7:10 PM. Glass blowers, extract artists, and rappers jumped in, turning a joke into a legit celebration of cannabis oils, waxes, and shatter. Today 7/10 rivals 4/20 for anyone who prefers torch-heated nails over rolling papers. It is the one day concentrates move from the margins to center stage, and the culture that built modern dabbing—artists, glassblowers, growers, and patients—gets its own spotlight.

2. Why We Celebrate It at The Medicine Box

The Medicine Box was built on two ideas: community and craftsmanship. Concentrates embody both. You cannot pull top-shelf rosin from trim or shake, and you cannot learn low-temp dab etiquette without a friend showing you the ropes. Oil Day lets us honor that craft-focused, knowledge-sharing spirit. Our team presses live rosin in-house under the MBDX label, so 7/10 feels personal. It is also the perfect bridge between traditional flower smokers, terp-hunters, and newcomers who want cleaner vapor and bigger flavor. We throw this party because it pulls our regulars, first-timers, and industry friends into the same room, opens up real conversations about technique and safety, and reminds everyone that concentrates are more than a trend, they are a discipline and an art form. Hosting Oil Day says, “We are serious about quality and we are down to share.”

3. What to Expect at Our 7/10 Celebration

  • Hosts – Lunice and Dany keep the mic warm, cue the music, and run one short Rosin Talk every hour between demos. They cover sourcing, pressing temps, and how to taste terps instead of butane.

  • Event-only pricing on all MBDX rosins
  • Hourly draws for concentrate accessories, fresh-pressed grams, and a custom mini-rig from EKA Glass
  • First fifty guests snag a limited “710 Flavors by Design” enamel pin

Flow of the night
The first torch lights at 6PM sharp. Each hour cycles like this: 15-minute EKA demo, 10-minute Rosin Talk, then 35-minute open dab bar. By 10 PM every guest should have seen glass come alive, picked up at least one tip from Lunice and Dany, and tasted a London Donovan dab that resets their terp baseline.

4. Why Dabbing Is Different

Combustion hits flower at 400-450 °C. A dab on a clean quartz banger rarely needs more than 315 °C. Lower heat keeps terpenes intact and drops the harsh plant-fiber burn. Instead of smoke you get vapor—lighter on the lungs but heavy on flavor. The cannabinoid punch is efficient: one dab can deliver the same milligrams you would need half a joint to reach. That efficiency changes the social rhythm. Sessions become smaller, more deliberate, and centered around the rig itself, which explains why glass culture matters so much. Dabbing is also precise. You tune temperature, pressure, and surface area in real time—micro-variables that let skilled users chase specific effects and flavors with repeatable results. Flower will always have its place, but concentrates offer a lab-grade lens on the plant.

5. The Medicine Box Philosophy on Resin and Rosin

We press because we care how the plant tastes. Resin comes from dried, cured material. Rosin comes from fresh-frozen flower or hash. They look similar in a jar, but fresh inputs keep volatile terpenes that curing drives off. Our mantra—Flavors by Design—means we build every step around preserving that live profile. We harvest at peak ripeness, freeze immediately, and press at low pressure for longer ramps. We refuse to scrub terpene counts just to chase max THC. If the profile is mango rind and gas in the garden, you should taste mango rind and gas in the dab. We apply the same thinking to community. Knowledge stays alive only when it is shared, so Oil Day is our open-book lab. Ask how we pick micron bags, why we burp jars, or which temp we like for a true cold-start—nothing is off limits.

Come by and enjoy a dab on us. July 10, 6-10 PM. London Donovan at the rig, EKA Glass at the torch, Lunice and Dany on the mic, and the whole Medicine Box crew ready to hand you the cleanest hit you will taste this summer.
